Women's Rights Committee Virtual Town Hall

Women's Rights Committee Virtual Town Hall
12 p.m. Video Conference.  Advance registration is required through the Philadelphia Bar Association and registration closes 30 minutes prior to the meeting start time. You will receive the link to join the video conference immediately after registration closes.

The Women’s Rights Committee is inviting you to a town hall to connect with each other about coping with the COVID-19 crisis.  How is the COVID-19 crisis affecting women in the communities we represent?  Are there any CLE’s the WRC should present to address women’s rights during the crisis and as we recover gradually.  Is there any interest in pursuing the CLEs we had started to plan in our March 12th meeting?  Those ideas included:

- Women in the Workplace—day care, employment discrimination, pregnant workers’ rights, and more
- PA Equal Rights Amendment- turns 50 in 2021:  Significant litigation under the PA ERA
- Reproductive Rights, including June Medical Services v. Gee, pending in the U.S. Supreme Court, and pending PA legislation

- Gender Bias in the Justice System, focusing on the intersection of gender and race/ethnicity
