The Diversity and Inclusion Imperative in Times of Crisis: Why Firms and Organizations with Greater Diversity Function Better and Are More Profitable

During times of crisis or economic uncertainty, women and people of color are often the first to be let go. Diversity officers and programs are the first on the chopping block, and sponsorship of diversity programs ceases. Yet, the data shows that retaining a diverse workforce far better enables organizations to thrive. In fact, the data suggests diversity, from the top of the ladder to the bottom, best positions organizations and firms to successfully navigate through crises and avert economic losses.

Experienced practitioners and diversity professionals examine evidence-based strategies for maintaining diversity and inclusion in times of crisis to help firms, not-for-profit and for-profit organizations function optimally and more profitably.
