On April 9, 2019, the Department of Justice Criminal Division announced federal indictments and law enforcement actions in one of the largest health care fraud schemes involving telemedicine and durable medical equipment marketing executives. DOJ charged 24 defendants, including the CEOs, COOs and other associated with five telemedicine companies, the owners of dozens of durable medical equipment companies, and three licensed medical professionals, responsible for over $1.2 billion in losses. This charging highlights the need for providers of telemedicine services to evaluate their compliance efforts.

In this informative video-encore CLE, Telemedicine: Criminal & Regulatory Overviewpanelists will provide an overview of the investigation and expected changes in the industry and recommendations for health care providers. The program will also provide an overview of key regulatory considerations to mitigate the possibility of civil enforcement actions.

Don't miss this examination of telemedicine regulatory issues and legal challenges.
