This video-encore presentation will provide information on the ethical, First Amendment, intellectual property and government transparency issues related to the use of these platforms, answering questions such as: Are Tweets and Facebook posts by public officials automatically considered public records that must be retained? Are retweeting, linking to a webpage, liking a picture, following, or commenting on a video government transactions? Do I need to obtain permission to use a non-City content, such as music or logos, on social media? Can I remove negative comments from a government social media account or block certain users?
